Mount Kelud’s eruption on Thursday, February 13, was affirmed to change the shape of the volcano mountain. “The lava dome has disappeared,” said Gede Suantika, the Acting Head of Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Center\u00a0(PVMBG) to\u00a0Tempo<\/em>\u00a0on Friday, February 14.\u00a0The 16-million-cubic lava dome, which had been a mascot for Mount Kelud tourism destination, was reported to be shattered into pieces of rocks and sand that covers most parts of Java Island. The bigger pieces are believed to fall around the crater in 5-kilometer radius.<\/p>\n
