The haze crisis in Indonesia, particularly over Sumatera, still need more research to unravel the complex governance and socioeconomic context and climatic feedbacks behind fires on peatlands. It needs to be examined for the underlying causes and impacts of peatland fires, focusing on the role of conflicts over land ownership between communities and companies; impacts on human health; and the transboundary bill recently proposed by the Singaporean government. And it is also important to find answers of this four additional questions by further research:
\n1. Will fire become more frequent and more extreme?
\n2. What are the true emissions of these fires?
\n3. To what extent do overlapping claims over land drives the fires?
\n4. Do market for palm oil drive fires in peatlands?<\/p>\n
