{"id":63903,"date":"2015-01-23T06:49:53","date_gmt":"2015-01-22T23:49:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ekuatorial.com\/2015\/01\/ministry-of-environment-and-forestry-accepted-court-ruling-over-its-law\/"},"modified":"2024-01-13T02:23:41","modified_gmt":"2024-01-12T19:23:41","slug":"ministry-of-environment-and-forestry-accepted-court-ruling-over-its-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ekuatorial.com\/en\/2015\/01\/ministry-of-environment-and-forestry-accepted-court-ruling-over-its-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Environment and Forestry accepted Court ruling over its law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jakarta, Ekuatorial<\/strong> \u2013 Ministry of Environment and Forestry stated that it had respected <a href=\"https:\/\/ekuatorial.com\/mining-energy\/constitutional-court-granted-appeal-for-environment-law-judicial-review\" title=\"Constitutional Court granted appeal for environment law judicial review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Constitutional Court <\/a>on granted the appeal on the 2009 Law on Environmental Protection and Management. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ministry of Environment and Forestry accept and respect the Court decision and will make adjustment in the law to be able to implement the decision,&#8221; said Rosa Vivien Ratnawati, head of legal and public relation of Ministry of Environment and Foresty on Thursday (22\/1). <\/p>\n<p>The appeal was submitted by Bachtiar Abdul Fatah, former General Manager of Sumatra Light South on PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia, who was also convicted for bio remediation corruption case on the same company. Fatah was sentenced with four years in prison and Rp 200 millions of fine by the Supreme Court, on October 2013. He was found guilty along with four other employees and two project contractors. The court found them guilty for causing the state to lose US$23,361 million or Rp 200 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Fatah submitted for a judicial review on one of the clause which stated that toxic waste management should earned permit from Minister, Governor, and Mayor\/Head of district in accordance to their authorities. The Court had decided that it was unconstitutional for not giving chances for those applying for extended permits. Hence, the court added a sentence that for those still seeking to extend its permits and on-going process must be considered had obtained permits.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the court had also granted the
