Manado, Ekuatorial<\/strong> \u2013 Massive uncontrollable waste is currently threatening Bunaken National Park<\/a>, one of Indonesia’s marine<\/a> beauty, said an official on Thursday (26\/2), in Manado. <\/p>\n

“”It is inevitable that waste is destroying the beauty and big name of Bunaken as one of world’s tourist destination,” said Joy Korah, head of North Sulawesi Tourism Agency. <\/p>\n

There was no direct research on its impact to numbers of tourists coming to the island, Korah said, nevertheless the issue was being addressed by them. As a result, his office had started to cooperate with private sector to set up a clean-up beach program. <\/p>\n

“We have a program to clean up the beach, to save Bunake from waste. It’s a cooperation with private sector, such as resort owners. We do this regularly every three months,” said Korah. <\/p>\n
