Pekanbaru, Ekuatorial –<\/strong> Riau Police named three executives of PT Palm Lestari Makmur as the suspect in an alleged case of fires in Indragiri Hulu.<\/p>\n

“One of the three people named as a suspect is an Indonesian citizen with initial name IJP, Director of PT PLM. Two other foreigners, one Malaysian citizen (EJP) and one Indian citizen (NMKC). Each served as operation manager and financial manager of the corporation,” said Director of the Special Criminal Investigation of Riau Police, Police Senior Commissioner Arif Rahman Hakim, Thursday (22\/10).<\/p>\n

According to Arif, a total of 2,089 hectares of land owned by PT PLM, 39 hectares burned. “From the investigation at the crime scene and from the expert witness, the area proved to be illegal. There is not yet land use permit from the Ministry.”<\/p>\n

To prevent them out from Riau and simplify the process of investigation, police determine to ban them. All three are also charged under criminal plated Law No. 18\/2013 on the Prevention and Eradication of forest destruction, Law No. 39\/2014 on Plantation, and Law No. 32\/2009 on Protection and Environmental Management.
