Biosphere Reserve Forests in Riau Endangered

Satellites Detect 126 Hotspots in Riau

Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysiscs Agency (BMKG) claimed to have seen an increase at the number of hotspots in Pekanbaru, Riau. “Tera and Aqua Satellites Observation discovered 126 hotspots in Riau,” said BMKG Analyst Agus Widodo. Another Elephant Down in Riau

Another Sumatran Elephant (Elephas maximus sumatranus) was found dead in Riau. The 30-year-old giant animal was found by the residents of Tasik Serai Village, Bengkalis Regency in the concession area of industrial forest of PT Arara Abadi.
