7 Elephant Skeletons Found in Tesso Nilo

Skeletons of seven elephants have been found in the area of Tesso Nilo National Park (TNTN) in Pelalawan, Riau. The elephants, predicted to have died three months ago, consist of one female, one male and five cubs. The dead elephants were found in the PT RAPP concession area, Baserah sector, Ukui district. The male elephant lost its trunk and was found a little far from the female and cubs. Syamsidar believes the elephants have been poisoned by irresponsible people who see the elephants as unwanted pest. However, autopsy result is needed for evidence.
