Timika, Jubi – Mimika Bupati Entinus Omaleng, SE, was angry seeing piles of garbage at the street causing less favorable view.

Omaleng’s wrath was seen as he drove towards Timika city roads which were filled with waste during his unannounced inspection, on Monday (15/12).

“The officer definitely did not pick up this trash. In addition, people keep throwing waste not in hours decided by the [sanitary] agency,” he said.

He admitted that he was disappointed to see garbage piled up in the street. He said that technical institution had scheduled the time when people can throw their garbage. Unfortunately, in reality, people are still less aware of the instruction.

“To be honest, I am very looking at this view meanwhile it’s already clear on the schedule from the agency. But, there were always those who ignore instruction by throwing them not on scheduled time,” he said.

He said that he will reprimand relate agency which has obligation to clean up the city from piled up garbage. “Related agency must see this, is is possible that from morning no [officer] came to pick up these garbage. I will ask head of agency for this matter,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mimika vice bupati Yohanis Bassang, SE, M.Si was disappointed to hear information related to government vehicle parked at one of night entertainment venue when the team was conducting a raid on liquor.

“I read the news in the newspaper. I will look into it who’s taking the car. I will continue to look for information because I find it unacceptable to drive government vehicle to night clubs,” he said.

He said that it was disgraceful for Mimika government, especially Asset and Equipment Office, as the ones conducting the raid were formed by local government.

“If they did it, it means that they have insulted bupati and myself. Because, we instructed for the raid and ended up finding government vehicle at a karaoke pub. It is very shameful,” said Bassang. (Eveeerth Joumilena)
