Lion Air cancelled 35 flights to and from Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, for safety reasons after Mount Raung spews volcanic ashes.
“The authorities will close the airport from 1 to 6pm [local time],” said Lion Air Director Edward Sirait in a statement on Wednesday. The decision also affected all subsidiary airlines such as Wings Air and Malindo Air.
Edward said, Lion Air offers compensation to passengers that had bought tickets to either reschecule or refund without any additional cuts.
Lion Air flights cancelled are to and from Denpasar and Surabaya, Bandung, Jakarta, Makassar and Lombok. Wings Air flights cancelled are to and from Denpasar and Maumere, Malang, Lombok, Labuan Bajo, Semarang. While Malindo air cancelled are to and from Denpasar and Kuala Lumpur. TEMPO/ANDI RUSLI
