Jon Afrizal is a senior journalist with a wealth of experience. He has English literature degree from Bung Hatta University and has been a contributor to The Jakarta Post since 2004. In August 2020, Jon became part of The Jakarta Post team that won the 2020 Public Service Journalism Award from the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) for the #CampusGoodName (#CampusReputation) collaboration. He has also written four books on journalism , writing, and environment. His latest work entitled "Melihat Hutan, Memahami Dunia" ("Seeing the Forest, Understanding the World") was co-written with Marahalim Siagian and published by Nasmedia in 2021. Currently, Jon is also reporting for Deutsche Welle Indonesia.
