Erika Kurnia is a dynamic journalist based in Jakarta, with more than five years of experience in online and daily newspaper media. She is experienced in writing about health, economic and metropolitan issues. She is currently working for the regional desk in Harian Kompas and covers urban and other social-economic issues in greater Jakarta. In 2022, she was supported by the Pantau Foundation's 'Literary Journalism Fellowship', to write about the unpopular "push solution" for Jakarta's traffic problem. This year, she received a reporting grant under "The Negative Impact of Metal Contamination in The Immediate Environment on The Health of Vulnerable Groups" form AJI Jakarta and EJN, where she covered the traces of heavy metals found in Jakarta's river which impacts the groundwater along the riverbanks.
